Our Top 5 Men’s Bible Studies

men's bible studies

God has given men a great deal of responsibility: we are husbands, fathers, friends, workers, and many other things.  In each of the roles we have, we are often times looked to to be the leader.  In the very least, we have a responsibility and obligation to lead our families.  But we need to be led, too.  We need to be surrounded by other men to encourage us on our journey.  We need a kick in the butt to take charge sometimes, and an encouraging hand on the shoulder when we are struggling or have blown it.  It is vital to be involved with other guys, studying the Word of God and being led by Jesus and encouraged by other men regularly.

With that in mind, we have collected a list of some of our bestselling men;s video Bible studies by trusted pastors and teachers like Craig Groeschel, John Eldredge, and Andy Stanley. These Bible studies are all based on video sessions you can watch on DVD, followed by group discussion and study using a participant’s guide. They’re really designed for use in a small group or church setting, but many people do enjoy doing them on their own as well. These Bible studies for men offer a chance for real life change as you experience the transforming power of Christ through the truth of his Word.

Here are a few of our bestselling men’s video Bible studies:

1.  Fight by Craig Groeschel

We sometimes look at the story of Samson and shake our heads.  Here was a guy that each of us would like to trade places with, knowing that we would have done it better.  But would we?  In Fight, Craig Groeschel shows how most men have the same struggles and failures of Samson and walks through some easy and practical strategies for combating those struggles and temptations.  We have an enemy that wants to bring us down – like Samson – but we have a God that empowers us to Fight.

2.  Wild at Heart by John Eldredge

Men love epic films (Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, etc), ones that shows a battle to be fought, people to be rescued, and wrongs to be righted.  John Eldredge invites men to rediscover that spirit, that heart which is defined in the image of God.  God is telling an epic story – one where there are battles, vulnerable people, and injustice.  We are called to join the battle, uphold the cause of the weak, and fight for justice.  In Wild at Heart, you will discover how God can put a spirit of adventure back into your life.

3.  Close Encounters by Jason Cruise

Close Encounters features real-life wild game hunts and fly fishing ventures connecting divine spiritual truths with the unique earthly experiences found only in the world of hunting and fishing. Author and Bible teacher Jason Cruise takes you on a trek into creation that will show you how to live out your passion for the outdoors in ways that bring honor to the God who created the dirt under your boots.

4.  Your Move by Andy Stanley

While not solely a men’s study, these four sessions on making wise decisions have tremendous benefit for men.  The second session (in my opinion) is worth the cost of the DVD itself.  Every decision and its outcome become a permanent part of your story.  How do you want your story to be told, to be remembered?  That can shape the decisions you face daily.  Andy Stanley offers four important questions that will help you determine your best move.

5.  Real Marriage by Mark and Grace Driscoll

If you are not actively working on your marriage, chances are great that it is sliding backwards.  I went through this study with my wife several years ago and it opened up fantastic conversation between the two of us. There are many great topics and issues that men could tackle in a group of men as well as with their wives.  Guys, we are the head of the family, whether we like it or not, whether we are more or less qualified than our wives to lead.  This study can help you stop the inevitable regression in marriage and take executable steps to make it more God-honoring.

There are certain things that you can only learn by being in community.  We encourage you to join with a small or large group of men and try out of of these men’s Bible studies.  You’ll be glad you did, and you may even come away changed.
