Jesus In Me Week 5 — Embracing the Purpose of the Holy Spirit

Jesus In Me Week 5 — Embracing the Purpose of the Holy Spirit

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Hi, who have been called according to His purpose. — Romans 8:28

Your life’s purpose is the same as mine: to know God and to give Him glory as you make Him known through the way you live your life and you serve Him. ~ Anne

Welcome back, friends! It’s week 5 and I don’t know about you, but this study has stirred me up. It’s awakened me to listen up and lean in, to ask where He’s leading, and to be watchful for what’s ahead.

Are you eager for more of God? Yearning for more spiritually? Do you feel held back, stuck where you are and about ready to bust just wanting God to give you more of Him and more to do for the Kingdom? Good!

That feeling means you’re meant to do something of significance! Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you just one step in the right direction. Ask Him to give you the right people to help you along the way. Make a bold move. Just one!

We are created in the image of God with a capacity to know Him in a personal permanent relationship for the purpose of bringing Him glory. Until that purpose is fulfilled, we’ll be empty, deeply dissatisfied, an unfulfilled as we continually try to fill the void with substitutes. But, if you’ve established your personal relationship with God and you still feel unfulfilled and dissatisfied, it could be that the Holy Spirit is stirring you up trying to direct your attention to your life’s purpose. ~ Anne

One of the sweetest revelations for me in this study is that yes, God is a friend to me, but I can be a friend to Him! Why that didn’t occur to me so profoundly before I don’t know, but it didn’t. Doing what He has called me to do, what He created me to do, is being a friend to Him. The same is true for you, too. And, we don’t have to go out and do it on our own. He, God Himself, will empower us to do it!

Romans 8:28 says that God works in all things for the good of those who love Him. When we’re in His purpose, He will work for the good. Even through pain and suffering. Even when it’s hard and doesn’t feel like it’s working. Even when it feels like our purpose is drudgery from time-to-time, or we don’t know what we’re doing in certain seasons, or we feel directionless right now… He is working it together for good. And, He will guide us to the next awesome step and weave it all together for good!

The Holy Spirit will tell you how to be His friend in the way that He has planned for you to be and He will be a Friend to you and me as well. How beautiful is that?!

Prayer for the Week

Holy Spirit, we love You. Thank You that You love us so much that You lead us and guide us and allow us to be a Friend to You. Thank You that we get to be a part of the plan of Your Kingdom on this earth. Help us to fulfill our purpose. Speak to us and help us to hear You. We want to have lives of significance and meaning. We want to hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” when we see You face-to-Face, friend-to-Friend! We love You, Holy Spirit! Amen.
