Living Only to Serve God

john-10-10

Before she met Jesus, Mary Magdalene was full of demons and sickness… unclean and unfit to be in decent company.

Jesus didn’t care what man thought of her. God had created her… and He was not about to give up on her!

She became His devoted follower and one of several women who travelled with Him and the apostles helping them and taking care of them. It may not have seemed particularly appropriate for a single woman to be traveling with a group of men, but she didn’t care what people thought. She lived only to serve God.

Mary Magdalene was the only woman at the cross who was not a member of Jesus’ family. She witnessed His burial and was the first to see the resurrected Jesus.

None of us is ever a lost cause to Jesus. If we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him. Even if our lives are so tangled and knotted that it seems nothing can undo all the craziness, God will take our lives… and give back our abundant lives full of purpose and meaning.

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. – John 10:10

Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’… But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. – Matthew 6:31-33

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. – Matthew 7:13-14
