Road Trip through America

Road Trip through America

My family loves a good road trip. Every summer we pack up the RV and head out on a multi-state vacation this includes sight seeing, amusement parks, museums, and trying new local foods at great restaurants. No matter how long or short the trip, it’s always fun-filled and educational.

Here are the top 5 reasons road tripping might be a great vacation for you, too:

Cost

Driving is generally cheaper than flying or even taking a train. If you have a large family, flying can be financially prohibitive. The cost savings allows you to have more choices about where you stay and how long you go.

Multiple cities and multiple states

Driving allows you to choose many locations. On a road trip, you can check out the large metropolitan cities as well as small towns off the beaten path. Also, your trip is comprised of not just of your final destination, but the landmarks along the way.

Complete flexibility

When you travel by car you are not locked into a schedule and have more control over your time. If you want to stay an extra day somewhere you can do it pretty easily. Pit stops and detours — yes, please!

Bonding

The hours you spend together in the car will bring you closer together. There are plenty of things to do as you pass the time. You can listen to music, read books, solve puzzles, and play games.

You get to see America!

Taking a road trip allows you to experience all of what The United States of America has to offer. We live in an amazing country that boasts a great variety in landscape, history, local culture and food. You simply have to see it to believe it.

If a road trip isn’t possible this year you can still take a tour of America right in your own backyard with the book God Bless America by Peter Francis — part of the Land That I Love book series for children. You and your children will enjoy learning about America’s landmarks and cities and how God made a wonderful place for them to live. The whimsical illustrations will excite your kids as they imagine the places they will someday go. Not only that, it will develop in them an appreciation for their country.

String them together with other individual books in the series focusing on specific states, such as God Bless Texas and God Bless Florida, to create a trip through the States.

Whether you are able to hit the highway or you choose to stay closer to home, there is so much to discover and learn about this wonderful country. God Bless the USA!
