He has sent me… to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. — Isaiah 61:1-3
Friends, the Uninvited Online Bible Study by Lysa TerKeurst starts August 20th and you are invited!
On video, Lysa took a Bible-rich journey through the Holy Land to remind us of this epic message:
You are fully loved.
Does that ring true for you? Or when you hear that do old messages of rejection start to roll around inside your heart?
We’ve all been painfully rejected at one time or another. We’ve experienced a lack of love that has torn our souls in a way that may feel completely irreparable. We’ve had horrible things done and said directly to us about the core of who we are. Me too.
We can’t escape that pain, but if you’re anything like me, the insecurity and doubt that stuck around afterward has played loudly in my head for far too long.
Rejection is harsh, hurtful, and haunting. ~ Lysa TerKeurst
Rejection strips our joy, eats away at our sense of worth and belonging, and poisons our present relationships. Those past hurts can lead us to hear, as Lysa recalled, “See, I’ve been telling you for years what an utter disappointment you are” deep in our souls.
Without a solid grasp of how loved we are in Jesus, rejection that we feel today always carries with it the memories of past rejections that attempt to confirm in our hearts that we are not enough, not loved, not worthy of love. And, that can lead us to try to control the people in our lives today to hopefully stave off future hurt more than we even realize.
Are you carrying around heavy burdens of rejection?
Are you wary of your current relationships fearful of being left someday?
Have you ever found yourself scrolling through social media and had the thought creep in that others have happier families, more friends, sweeter marriages, and are just more… included and loved than you are?
Are you tired of feeling uninvited?
Lysa wanted to know “can the Bible help me process the devastating feelings of being left out, lonely, less than”?
Let’s follow her down that road, down the dirt and cobble stone paths in the Holy Land to find out what God says about us, what He feels about us. We’re going to look at the rejections of our past in a healthy, new way and learn that God’s permanent, faithful, everlasting love never turns us away, always accepts us, is always leaning in close and find rest for our souls.
We are utterly loved and always invited in.
Live loved and you won’t find yourself begging for scraps of love… Rejection doesn’t have the final say. ~ Lysa TerKeurst
In the magestic Holy Land, Lysa point us back towards Jesus where we are deeply, completely, and beyond our imaginations loved. We get to experience:
Session One: Mount of Beattiudes
Session Two: Caiaphas’ house where Peter betrayed Jesus
Session Three: Cave of Adullam where David hid from Saul
Session Four: Shiloh where Hannah prayed
Session Five: Cliffs of Mount Arbel
Session Six: Garden of Gethsemane (This is my favorite part!)
Friends, I opened up Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst and found the love of Jesus inside. Lysa shares personal stories of rejection in her past (both real and perceived) that I so relate to! She’s experienced the pain of being uninvited just as we have and she’s sought God with all of her heart to find her way through… to healing, to wholeness, to Jesus. I love her example as much as I love her heart for the Lord.
I hope you will join us for the Uninvited Online Bible Study starting August 20th and continuing for six Bible-packed weeks.
