You're Invited to the Because of Bethlehem Online Bible Study

Believe it or not, Christmas is right around the corner! This year, we’re anticipating it all: the Christmas choir rehearsals, family photos all decked out in red plaid, the trip to the Christmas tree farm, dinners and caroling with relatives and friends, roast beef feasts, peppermint mochas, Grandmother’s walnut fudge, and hugs! Bring it all back!

But, as Christians, that’s not all we plan for this season; we want to focus in on our Savior King, the Hero of the Christmas story, our Lord of Lords, Jesus.

We don’t want to wake up on Christmas morning trying to catch our hearts up to the wonder of the Gift of Himself. We want to soak it in and make space in our hearts, minds, and lives during these Advent weeks and remind ourselves of His surprising incarnation and rejoice in all that God has done for us through Christ Jesus.

The question Advent invites us to consider is this: How ready am I for the arrival of the King? — Max Lucado

I’m thrilled to announce that Max’s study Because of Bethlehem is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year and will be our Christmas Online Bible Study once again! You won’t want to miss this!

Every year Advent invites us to prepare our hearts once more for the gift — the gift that seemingly is too good to be true but is, in fact, miraculously and joyously true! And each year, we have the opportunity to say yes to that invitation, to prepare our hearts for the miracle of Immanuel, “God with us.” — Max Lucado, Because of Bethlehem

Although Christmas is a season of celebration and heartwarming family and friend times together, it can also be a season of sadness, of lost hope, and disappointments. We know this is true for so many of you. Because of Bethlehem isn’t only a study of the shining, miraculous, lovely wonder of Christmas, but it’s also a deeper look into the struggle, suffering, messiness… and yet the beauty and joy of the Advent experience.

You’ll love walking through The Christmas story with Max Lucado. There’s a good reason Max has oftentimes been called “America’s Pastor”. He knows the Word of God, he’s full of the love of Jesus, approachable, relatable, kind, friendly, and wise. And he loves Christmas, because he says, “it’s during this time of year that people will wonder and inquire about the baby born in the manger. This little baby became the King on the cross… and it’s an opportunity to point others toward the One worth celebrating.”

Amen? Amen!
